“The roots of resilience...are to be found in the sense of being understood by and existing in the mind and heart of a loving, attuned, and self-possessed other.” -Diana Fosha

Welcome~

Unfortunately, I currently don’t have availability for new clients. Some other resources for your search: psychologytoday.com, nwaps.org/find-a-therapist, goodtherapy.org, wmhca.org/directory, multiculturalcounselors.org, and aedpinstitute.org/find-an-aedp-institute-therapist/listings/.

My name is Erika (she/her) and I am a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) in Washington state. I offer individual counseling--also called psychotherapy--to adults of all ages who are seeking a process and relationship dedicated to working through struggles to feel more fully present and whole in their lives.

I imagine you are here because you are experiencing something hard--maybe new and life-altering, maybe old and ongoing. Some of the following words might begin to represent why you're exploring therapy at this time in your life:

Anxiety

Depression

Loss & Grief

Life Transitions

Relationships & Attachment

Trauma

Stress

Privilege & Oppression

Identity -- race, gender, sexuality/LGBTQ+, career, roles, culture, class

Sense of Self & Purpose

Without knowing you yet, I also know that these words just scratch the surface of your complexity and wholeness.

I have a deep appreciation for how it can feel to begin therapy, or to return to it at a new stage of life. It might be hard to know which experiences or identities to share first, or to find language to start expressing them to someone new. It can feel exciting or vulnerable because you're hoping to be helped, and where there is hope there's also often worry or fear. These feelings, if you're having them, are likely tied to past experiences of how other people or society have responded to you.

I am here to help with the process of getting started, and of exploring, focusing, and expanding from there. It is an honor that you might choose to begin letting me know you so that together we can work to help you feel better and more fully yourself.
